Network Engineer – Juniper & F5 (DV Cleared)

Working Pattern: Fully on site, 5 days per week

Tektora are supporting an established consultancy who are looking to speak with DV Cleared Network Engineers with strong Juniper and F5 experience for a contract opportunity in Reading.
Please note: active DV Clearance is essential for this role. Applications cannot be considered without it.
This role would suit a hands-on network engineer who is comfortable working across the full lifecycle — designing changes, delivering them through project workstreams, and supporting the estate day to day — rather than sitting purely in design or purely in support. Juniper and F5 are the core of the environment.
The Role
You will be involved in:
- Designing and delivering network changes across Juniper routing and switching estates
- Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting F5 load balancing platforms
- Producing low-level designs, build documentation and as-built records
- Delivering the network elements of project workstreams alongside delivery teams
- Providing BAU support — fault diagnosis, incident resolution and escalation handling
- Carrying out firmware and software upgrades across Juniper and F5 platforms
- Implementing changes through formal change control within an accredited environment
- Monitoring capacity and performance and recommending improvements
- Supporting network security controls including firewall rules and access control lists
- Working with security, service management and project stakeholders across secure environments
Key Experience Required
- UK National with active DV Clearance
- Strong hands-on Juniper experience across JUNOS routing and switching
- Hands-on F5 experience, LTM as a minimum
- Experience spanning design, project delivery and BAU support rather than one of the three
- Solid routing protocol knowledge including BGP and OSPF
- Switching, VLANs, VRFs and MPLS
- Experience working within secure, accredited or classified network environments
- Comfortable producing and working to formal designs and documentation
- Experience of structured change control processes
- Able to work on site in Reading 5 days per week
Desirable Experience
- Juniper certification such as JNCIS, JNCIP or JNCIE
- F5 certification, or experience of GTM/DNS, APM or ASM alongside LTM
- Cisco experience alongside Juniper in a mixed-vendor estate
- Experience of network refresh, migration or transformation programmes
- Network automation exposure such as Ansible or Python scripting
- Previous delivery into UK defence, government or other highly regulated environments
